IIT Delhi has instituted a prestigious Summer Research Fellowship Programme. It provides an opportunity to exceptionally qualified undergraduate and postgraduate students to execute innovative research and development projects under the guidance of IIT Delhi faculty. The students at different engineering institutes except IIT Delhi in India or abroad, who are within Top ten ranks in their respective programme/branch, are eligible to apply.

About the Fellowship

📅 Duration

The Fellowship work can be done in a period of 8 weeks during the institute vacation period
Fellowship Period: 13th May 2026 - 13th July 2026

💰 Support & Benefits

Travel Allowance: Cost of travel (Sleeper class) within the country, to and from IIT Delhi
Accommodation: Free boarding and lodging in Institute hostels during the visit
Fellowship Amount: ₹2000/- per week as stipend
Registration: No registration fees for visiting students

The selected fellow will be required to get insured against any eventuality for the period of stay. The student will have to bear the insurance charges (covering accident and accidental death).

Eligibility Criteria

🎓 Undergraduate Students

Students from engineering institutes (except IIT Delhi)
Completed at least 2 years of study
Within top ten ranks in respective programme/branch

📚 Postgraduate Students (M.Tech/M.E.)

Students from institutes (except IIT Delhi)
Completed at least 1st Semester of study
Within top ten ranks AND at least 70% or CGPA 7.00 (on 10-point scale)
